Subsidence Repairs

December 2024

JTC were asked to provide a solution for subsidence related damage to a prospective buyer of a period detached house.

The property showed evidence of cracking related to downward movement of the foundations. Our surveyor identified the cause of movement as erosion of the subsoils due to poorly managed rainwater discharge in the area of a shallow brick spread foundation.

A report and proposed remedial repair strategy was assembled for the client to present to his mortgage provider, who then approved the proposed remedial repair.

JTC Structural Repair carried out the repairs including external masonry ground beams, internal masonry beams, crack stitching and grouted shear ties within the timeframe and price indicated in our original report and quotation.
