Internal/External Wall Separation
We were called to lookout crack damage in a recently constructed 3 story town house near Doncaster.
The internal walls between first and second floor level were separating from the rear elevation of the property due weak bond strength between the brickwork and a large area of wall within the stairwell having no lateral restrain provision.

Traditional repairs would be carried out from the exterior of the property requiring the use of an expensive and intrusive scaffold system.
JTC Structural Repairs designed a repair solution anchoring the outer leaf of the rear elevation the the abutting inner spine wall, installed from inside the building.

Anchor holes were drilled 80mm into the outer leaf masonry and monitored for accuracy using endoscopic survey equipment.

Strucsol 8mm ties were inserted into the outer leaf masonry from inside the building, the ties were bonded into the wall using Strucsol EASF Resin.
Each tie provided a lateral restraint capacity of 10kN
On completion and proof testing of the ties the Dot and Dab plasterboard wall finishes were reinstated.
